SPA 423 - Themes in Literature Recurring themes appearing in works of one or several authors. Knowledge of Spanish necessary although subject studied may be compared with other literatures in translation. May be repeated as subtitle changes. Prerequisites: Two of the following courses: SPA 306, SPA 307, SPA 308. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify, critique, and interpret a variety of Latin American and/or Spanish literary and artistic genres.
- Demonstrate an understanding of culture through the analysis of literary texts.
- Demonstrate improved writing/oral skills while analyzing literary texts.
