SPA 320 - Spanish for the Professions

Basic course for the acquisition of specific language skills for effective communication in everyday situations in fields such as business, law enforcement, education, social work, health care and welfare.  Prerequisite: One of the following: SPA 306, 307 or 308. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code C = offered at least once every two years

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Communicate in Spanish utilizing appropriate vocabulary in the areas of Business, Law Enforcement, Medical Personnel, and Teaching.
  2. Differentiate vocabulary and grammatical structures that are appropriate in different registers in the areas of Business, Law Enforcement, Medical Personnel, and Teaching.
  3. Accurately express themselves both in writing and orally utilizing vocabulary and grammatical structures typically found in the areas of Business, Law Enforcement, Medical Personnel, and Teaching.
