SPA 315 - Survey of Spanish Literature

Representative works from the medieval period to the present. Readings, writings, discussions, reports. Prerequisite: One of the following: SPA 306, 307 or 308. Fulfills: GE 7, GEHU; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Express themselves in the target language with improved control of syntax and expanded vocabulary.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the history of Spanish literature.
  3. Distinguish cultural themes, conflicts, values, events, and ideas that continue to define and inform the Spanish-speaking world today.
  4. Analyze a literary text with a focus on textual evidence and stylistic tendencies of literary periods.
