COM 335 - Issues in Digital Culture

Ongoing developments of digital culture and its effects on society. Critical and cultural theories applied to a wide variety of practical, societal, legal, and ethical issues. Emphasis on critical thinking, research, writing and computer skills. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the range of new communication technologies, their historical developments and their functions.
  2. Analyze how new communication technologies are transforming the communications industry.
  3. Articulate how new communication technologies are impacting professions, society, culture, and traditional communication media.
