EXS 611 - Research Methods in Exercise Science Prepares students to read, comprehend, and critique research; retrieve scholarly articles; and develop research-related skills for further graduate education and professional work. Students will learn how to develop, write, and present a proposal for a research project. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code F = offered in fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Develop a research proposal which includes a summary of scientific literature related to a research question.
- Critique research in written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrate understanding of measurement concepts (e.g., validity, reliability, scales of measurement) and appropriate statistical procedures for their evaluation.
- Recognize ethical principles of research and their historical context.
