ATR 542 - Clinical Experience II This supervised clinical experience provides students with continued clinical care opportunities. The discussion-based classroom component is designed to facilitate critical thinking and reflection on practice with regard to inter-professional collaboration and diagnostic tests. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code S = offered in spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Discuss ethical healthcare that aligns with the Board of Certification (BOC) Standards of Professional Practice, the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Code of Ethics, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Explain the role of the athletic trainer as a healthcare provider within the context of an evolving healthcare system.
- Practice collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
- Identify the necessary and appropriate diagnostic tests and use results to make a clinical judgment.
- Select and utilize evidence-based practice as a foundation for the delivery of patient-centered care.
- Successfully demonstrate critical components of all clinical education experiences as evaluated by preceptors to include but not limited to: professional responsibilities and patient/client care.
