EDL 680 - Principal Leadership The role of the principal, the change process, student guidance and management, legal aspects, curriculum supervision and models of decision-making and shared leadership. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Articulate the roles and responsibilities of the building principal, and the complexities of school management and improvement at multiple levels.
- Describe the major patterns of school organization and delegated responsibilities within schools and across districts.
- Utilize data analysis, improvement planning, and State Education Department, School Administrators Association of New York State, and other web resources, as an essential function of leadership.
- Explain the varied and unique circumstances of individual schools within their respective districts, regions and BOCES with regard to student and staff demographics.
