EXS 344 - Medical Terminology Recognition and interpretation of the specific terminology used in the allied health or medical fields for both clinical and non-clinical health professions. Prerequisite: BIO 301 or BIO 302. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and explain the function of specific word parts.
- Describe how medical compound terms (words) are constructed.
- Build compound terms using multiple word parts in a combining form.
- Deconstruct and analyze key compound medical terms.
- Define key compound medical terms.
