HUS 200 - Structure and Function of Human Services Agencies

An exploration of organization and ecology of human services agencies: the roles of agencies at community, state and national levels; interactions between agencies to deliver services; and the role of federal agencies in funding and oversight. Prerequisite: HUS 100. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Compare and contrast different models of human services delivery. 
  2. Identify the structure and function of different human services agencies at the local, state, and national levels. 
  3. Discuss the impact of policy and funding decisions on human services agencies.
  4. Explain best practices as they relate to the administration of human services agencies.
  5. Explore how human services agencies interact with various other outside systems on behalf of clients.
