IST 320 - Introduction to the European Union

 

Mechanisms for integrating sovereign countries into an ever closer European Union are explored. Focus on effectiveness of the European Union in addressing regional and global economic/political crises and conflicts. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Assess the historical origins of the European Union integration.
  2. Explain European Union governance processes and the differences between the European Union institutions.
  3. Analyze the effectiveness of the political, social, and economic integration of the European Union.
