SPM 336 - Intermediate Digital Video Streaming

Students will develop skills in the Advanced use of Video Streaming of sporting events (computer graphics, digital replay, digital switching). The student will commit to 40 hours of total time in both in-class lessons (1 hour in class the first week of classes and one in-class session the last week of classes) and at the sporting event site producing a streaming product. In class, they will learn how to correctly operate second-level sports video production equipment. The student will practice and improve their video graphics and digital replay techniques used in the sports media field. Prerequisite: SPM 236. (1 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate how to operate a small camcorder to videotape sport events.
  2. Shoot video in a sporting event.
  3. Use video editing software for sport packages.
  4. Demonstrate how to capture video and audio for non-linear editing.
  5. Explain how to set up and use media to exhibit sport packages.
