REC 441 - Site and Facilities

Use and operation of new and existing sites, facilities, equipment and spaces. Focus on maximizing site and facility resources to meet the needs of diverse populations. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and explain key elements associated with the planning and completion of a recreation facility including needs assessment, land use, functional and technical considerations, development and financing.
  2. Analyze and identify existing site and facility resources to meet participant and programming needs while ensuring sustainable use and operation. 
  3. Plan and implement a facility use and operations plan.
  4. Plan and design a facility budget including pricing and cost coverage.
  5. Comply with site and facility accessibility standards by utilizing accessible equipment to meet the needs of diverse populations.
