POL 482 - New York State Legislative Internship Spring semester program for selected students to live and work in Albany as interns with State Legislature (Assembly and Senate). Students receive stipend of approximately $3,000. Prerequisite: Consent of department. Fulfills: LASR. (15 cr. hr.) Frequency code S = offered in spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe connections between political theory and the practical experience gained as an intern for a member of the New York State Assembly.
- Explain the role the New York State Assembly plays in state governance.
- Write a policy proposal.
