ICC 145 - Introduction to Academic Language and University Practices Introduces international students (students whose first language is not English) and TESOL majors to academic language. Special emphasis is placed on discipline-specific discourse conventions and assignments. Prerequisite: Consent of department. (3 cr. hr.)

- Recognize and use academic language when interacting with their peers and their professors.
- Analyze and critique academic language when reading scholarly work, writing papers, and completing university assignments.
