HIS 525 - Issues in the U.S. Civil War

Issues in the history of the American Civil War from approximately 1844-1865. Open only to students enrolled in M.A. in history, M.S.Ed. in adolescence education: social studies programs. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the historical significance of key themes, events, and people relevant to Civil War history.
  2. Assess the persuasiveness of historians' claims about the past.
  3. Identify the implications of historiographical innovations and debates for narratives about Civil War history.
