HIS 313 - African-American History Since 1865 Advanced course on the history of African Americans from 1865 to recent times with a focus on historiographical issues relating to reconstruction and freedom, race and industrialization, migration and Jim Crow, protest traditions, black politics, African-American culture, the Civil Rights movement, and the relationship between class and race in the American tradition. Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the historical significance of key themes, events and people relevant to African American history since 1865.
