GRY 337 - Programming in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Provides an application of computer programming principles to Geographic Information System (GIS) environments. Once basic programming principles are understood, common GIS related programming tools and languages such as Model Builder and Python will be explored through computer based lab exercises. Prerequisites: GRY 324. (4 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain basic concepts of GIS scripting including use of syntax, commands, and automation of repetitive GIS data management tasks with scripts.
- Develop and assess a script of their own creation focusing upon the use of Python scripting for a mapping task or for creating a tool in the ModelBuilder toolbox for a final project.
