GRY 334 - Historical Geographic Information Systems

Introduction to the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to facilitate empirical research on the history of land use, the development of spatial economies, and the visualization of past landscapes and landscape change through lecture and lab exercises. Prerequisite: GRY 324. (4 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply geospatial technology to examine the history of land use.
  2. Apply geospatial technology to examine the development of spatial economies.
  3. Produce visualizations of past landscapes and landscape change.
