EXS 397 - Exercise Physiology I Physiological adjustments, changes occurring in human organism as a result of physical activity. Physiology of muscular contraction; role of circulatory and respiratory systems in exercise. Lectures, recitation, laboratory. Prerequisites: BIO 301, 302 or 324, 414. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the acute physiological changes that occur during exercise.
- Analyze means maintaining the body in optimum physiological status for exercise.
- Summarize the physiological adaptations that occur following chronic exercise training.
- Report the health benefits of a consistent exercise program.
- Identify how the various systems of the human body connect in response to exercise.
