EXS 296 - Field Experience in Fitness Development II An intermediate field experience for the kinesiology: fitness development (FIT) major. Practical knowledge and hands-on experience by assisting with beginning through advanced resistance training and cardiovascular fitness programs. Prerequisite: EXS 196. (1 cr. hr.) Frequency code A = offered every semester
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to teach exercises for all major muscle groups.
- Identify how to safely and properly instruct use of strength training equipment including axis of rotation and proper adjustments.
- Describe how to act as a fitness professional while providing for the safety of all patrons within the fitness facility.
- Evaluate functional training and exercise progressions for all major muscle groups.
- Explain how to read and write physical descriptions of exercises including visuals.
