ECO 307 - Marxian Economics

Principles of Marxian economic analysis from Das Kapital to present. Prerequisites: ECO 105 and junior standing or consent of department. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Utilize "historical materialism" and "dialectics" as methods to describe the evolution of political-economic systems.
  2. Analyze the laws of motion of capitalist systems using the Marxian labor theory of value.
  3. Discuss the relevance of class struggle for contemporary labor issues and/or social movements.
