CHI 201 - Intermediate Chinese I Continued development of the skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing with emphasis on developing communicative strategies at the second-year level. Expanding cultural knowledge. Prerequisite: CHI 102 or equivalent. Fulfills: GE 9; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Comprehend and produce spoken Chinese at a level commensurate with the novice mid level or higher as described in the current ACTFL Proficiency Benchmarks and Performance Indicators for language learners in listening and speaking.
- Comprehend and produce written Chinese at a level commensurate with the novice low level or higher as described in the current ACTFL Proficiency Benchmarks and Performance Indicators for language learners in reading and writing.
- Analyze and interpret Chinese culture in terms of products, practices, and perspectives at a level commensurate with the intermediate level or higher as described in the current ACTFL Proficiency Benchmarks and Performance Indicators for language learners in intercultural communication.
