ATR 324 - Applied Clinical Skills This course will provide students with the opportunity to develop the specific athletic training clinical proficiencies that are outlined in the Athletic Training Education Competencies. In preparation of these skills, competence of subject matter will be verified through the teaching, practice and subsequent evaluation of outcomes documented over time. Prerequisite: ATR 323. (1 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Summarize the basic principles associated with the design, construction, fit, maintenance, and reconditioning of protective equipment, including the rules and regulations established by the associations that govern its use.
- Fit standard protective equipment following manufacturer's guidelines.
- Apply preventive taping and wrapping procedures, splints, braces, and other special protective devices.
- Fabricate and apply taping, wrapping, supportive, and protective devices to facilitate return to function.
- Develop comprehensive, venue-specific emergency action plans for the care of acutely injured or ill individuals.
- Develop a professional resume, cover letter, and letter of reference.
