HIS 561 - Teaching Global History

Conceptual examination of the teaching of global history. Open only to students in the M.A. and adolescence education: social studies (7-12) M.S.Ed. - history concentration programs. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Evaluate different approaches to the periodization of global history.
  2. Identify significant categories of analysis, including race, class, and gender, relevant to the teaching of global history.
  3. Develop teaching strategies for middle and high school students studying global history.
