SHH 670 - Phonology and Articulation Disorders Advanced study of theory, assessment and treatment of articulation and phonology disorders. Open to students in the M.S. program in communication sciences and disorders. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Discuss, analyze and evaluate current theoretical framework, issues and evidence-base for articulation and phonological disorders.
- Explain fundamentals of co-articulation, speech acoustics, sensory, linguistic/cognitive and cultural factors in articulation/phonology acquisition and disorders.
- Compare/contrast articulation/phonology acquisition models relative to service provision for clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
