GRY 516 - Tourism Planning and Development The spatial analysis of tourism as a component of economic development. A regional comparison of the marketing of tourism resources in the developed and less developed countries of the world. Examination of the resources necessary for the development of tourism and an analysis of the economic and environmental impact on a location as a result of marketing those resources. Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Create an economic impact assessment plan for a specific tourism operation in a developing country.
- Generate an environmental impact assessment for an existing tourism operation.
- Develop a culturally literate marketing strategy for a sustainable tourism initiative.
