ENG 699 - Independent Study Advanced study in language and literature open to graduate English students only. Reading, research, papers, examinations and credit hours (not more than six) to be arranged with instructor who directs study and approved by Graduate English Committee. Course may be repeated but for no more than a total of six hours. (1-6 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply expertise in advanced methods of literary, cultural, and/or rhetorical analysis and research.
- Produce a self-directed research project that contributes to knowledge in the field.
- Demonstrate expertise in selected topic in consultation with faculty member and critical approaches to topic.
