Historical philosophical development of health education with emphasis on status, trends. Theory, methodology utilized in instruction process for behavior development, change investigated. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and apply the key theories and models that guide the practice of health education.
  2. Practice communicating, promoting, and advocating for health and the profession of health education.
  3. Analyze the determinants of health issues and health-related behaviors.
  4. Analyze the roles, responsibilities and scope of practice for an ethical health educator.
  5. Develop a philosophy of health education.
