EXS 311 - Legal Issues in Physical Education and Sport

Study of legal issues affecting management of sport programs. Focus on liability as it affects teachers, coaches, administrators and sport management personnel.  (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify examples of legal issues in the sport industry.
  2. Interpret and reflect on the legal requirements facing sport organizations.
  3. Illustrate how various sport endeavors are affected by legal issues.
  4. Explain how legal decisions affect how sport is structured and liability issues minimized.
  5. Discuss how coaches are affected by legal issues.
