PWR 295 - Introduction to Professional Writing

Key concepts in rhetoric related to learning professional genres and analysis of discourse in a variety of career contexts. Practice writing for different venues, publications, or online environments. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate rhetorical awareness of genre, audience, purpose, and context.
  2. Structure and focus writing based on feedback and visibility of their work in online environments, publishing, workshops, or other venues inside or outside of the classroom.
  3. Interpret and use documents to understand a range of professional genres.
