PED 105 - Beginning Swim

Designed to acquaint students with personal safety skills, basic concepts of being comfortable in the water (floating, gliding, breathing, etc.) and basic swimming stroke components (various kicks and arm movements). (1 cr. hr.)
Frequency code F = offered in fall

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the principles of hydrodynamics as they apply to beginning swimmers.
  2. Successfully perform the movements of the arms and legs as performed in various swim strokes.
  3. Experience a variety of water exercise techniques and understand the benefits of a water exercise program.
