FSA 437 - Assessment of Learners with Diverse Needs

Assessment of students with diverse needs, including identification of students with special needs, developing goals and objectives, progress monitoring and report writing. Candidates learn assessment methods and practices applicable to a wide range of students. Prerequisite: FSA 340. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Use multiple methods of assessments and data-sources to describe student learner characteristics and their academic and social support needs.
  2. Develop assessment-based IEP annual goals and short-term objectives/benchmarks.
  3. Use pre-assessment data, and develop formative and summative assessments, for lessons in inclusive classrooms.
  4. Analyze multiple methods of assessment used in a classroom and articulate the ways to use them to make various educational decisions.
