PED 282 - Health-Related Physical Fitness

The course is designed to introduce students to the concepts and activities of health-related fitness. Students will assess their health-related fitness, learn specific activities to develop or maintain fitness, and design a personal exercise program. (1 cr. hr.)
Frequency code A = offered every semester

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. State and describe each of the five components of health-related physical fitness. 
  2. Apply the F.I.T.T. principle as it pertains to each component of health-related physical fitness. 
  3. Create an appropriate written nutrition plan for themselves. 
  4. Correctly perform safe and appropriate activities to improve and maintain each of the five components of health-related physical fitness. 
  5. Achieve and maintain a level of health-related fitness consistent with FITNESSGRAM standards.
