Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe a variety of theoretical perspectives at the core of sociological thought
  2. Interpret empirical literature with critical understanding of common social-science analytic approaches.
  3. Apply the concept of the "sociological imagination" to examine patterns of social behavior, the institutions which influence such behavior, and the social problems faced by society.
  4. Use sociological concepts to analyze U.S. society.
