REC 435 - Therapeutic Recreation Interventions I

In-depth examination of individual and group techniques used in therapeutic recreation practice, including therapeutic interventions, modalities, instruction, leadership, supervision and counseling techniques. Primary focus on small group leadership and leisure education/counseling. Prerequisite: REC 330 or equivalent or consent of department. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Plan, implement, evaluate and document leisure education and leisure counseling programs as part of therapeutic recreation practice.
