PSY 313 - Cognitive Psychology

Models and theories used in the field of cognitive psychology, and research in many aspects of cognition including memory, knowledge acquisition and use, language, reasoning and problem solving, and metacognition. Prerequisites: PSY 101, three additional credit hours in psychology. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Compare leading theoretical models of how specific cognitive processes govern our thoughts and actions.
  2. Identify common methods used to study human cognition.
  3. Reference major theoretical debates in the field of Cognitive Psychology.
  4. Apply this knowledge to solving real-world problems in daily life.
