PED 137 - Skating

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of ice skating. Topics covered include balance, stride, edge control and backward skating. Notes: This course is usually a quarter course offered seasonally.(0.5 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate fundamental skills in skating. 
  2. Demonstrate appropriate etiquette in skating. 
  3. Explain how skating can contribute to lifetime physical activity and leisure.
