DNC 103 - Tap Dance I

Exploration and development of basic tap dance technique. Exercises and combinations focus on strong rhythmic patterns and control. May be repeated for one additional credit hour. Fulfills: LASR. (1 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Perform basic rhythms and combinations to establish a foundation for tap technique.
  2. Perform basic exercises to develop flexibility, speed, clarity of sound and agility for tap technique.
  3. Perform different tap styles.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of historical context of tap dance.
