BIO 438 - Research in Biology

Investigation, under faculty supervision, terminated by report written in scientific format. Presentation of final results to be made in BIO 436 (Research Seminar). May be repeated for maximum of six credit hours. Prerequisite: BIO 437. Grading: H, S, U grades are assigned. (2-3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Complete a research project in biological science by articulation of a research plan, utilization of methods appropriate for the investigation and collection of experimental data.
  2. Analyze the significance of experimental data in the context of the scientific literature for the specific area of research.
  3. Communicate biological research in a written format following the conventions for a specific field of scientific literature.
