ATR 421 - Athletic Injury Risk Management

Prevention, protection and initial management and referral of injuries occurring in athletics and with physically active individuals. Students will be exposed to various risk management concerns and issues. Prerequisite: BIO 301. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code S = offered in spring

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and assess common athletic injuries and associated risks involved.
  2. Construct prevention, first aid and treatment strategies for various athletic injuries.
  3. Distinguish and analyze appropriate emergency procedures utilized during athletic injuries.
