ESL 406 - Educating English Language Learners Overview of theory and research on first and second language and literacy development, bilingualism and the evolution of language policy in the U.S. Examines language prejudice and discrimination as institutionalized by schools and aims to dispel widely held misconceptions regarding the education of English language learners.
