ATH 331 - History of Graphic Design Survey of historical events and movements in visual communication from prehistory to the present, with emphasis on the evolution of typographic form, design technologies and distinct ways of seeing in different periods and societies. Lectures, texts, images and discussion introduce developments from cave painting to hieroglyphics to printed matter and interactive media. Prerequisite: ATH 121 or ATH 122. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
