MAT 105 - Mathematics in Modern Society The use of basic mathematical concepts from algebra and geometry to analyze problems in modern society. Topics may include voting systems, fair division, interpreting statistics, scheduling, routing, linear programming, population growth, patterns and symmetry. Prerequisite: Two units of Regents high school mathematics. Fulfills GE 1; LASR. Notes: Mathematics majors may take course only as free elective.(3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
