AAS 313 - African-American History since 1865

Advanced course on the history of African Americans from 1865 to recent times with a focus on historiographical issues relating to reconstruction and freedom, race and industrialization, migration and Jim Crow, protest traditions, black politics, African American culture, the Civil Rights movement, and the relationship between class and race in the American tradition.  Prerequisite: HIS 200, 201 or AAS 100.
