SOC 464 - Corrections

Course takes a long range historical approach to correctional ideas and institutions in the United States and Europe. Focus is on the development of institutions and ideas for “correcting” dependent poverty, criminality, delinquency and mental illness. Course also examines the changing relationship between correctional institutions and other economic and social institutions. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or 150 or ANT 102. Also listed as CRM 464.
