SOC 375 - Sociology of Law

Law is analyzed with respect to its functions as a means of social control and its relationships with other social institutions. Topics include an interdisciplinary survey of jurisprudence, the natural law approach versus legal and cultural realism, law as a source of crime, the administration of justice, and law in non-Western cultures.
