ECE 330 - Observation and Assessment of Young Children

(B) This course will acquaint students with the observation and assessment techniques that they will need to understand young children's growth and development in order to meet the individual needs of children while building on their strengths.

Students will examine formal and informal assessments of physical, cognitive, language and social/emotional development. Critical issues in early childhood developmental assessment will be addressed. Students will practice the techniques and assessments throughout the semester. Prerequisites: ECE 270 and PSY 231. (3 cr. hr.)
