SOC 493 - Methods of Social Research I

(A)Introduction to methods of social research. Provides students with basic understanding of how to conduct and evaluate scientific research in the social sciences. Course topics follow the major steps in design and execution of social research from definition of the problem and formulation of hypotheses to interpretation of results and preparation of final report. Course provides suitable background for pursuing more advanced courses in research.Prerequisite: Junior or senior status.Fulfills Liberal Arts (LAS) Requirement *(3 cr. hr.)
